Friends of the Morris Canal Greenway in Bloomfield

Friends of the Morris Canal Greenway in Bloomfield is the non-profit organization that is raising funds to preserve the Collins House and create a Greenway through Bloomfield following the path of the Morris Canal.

The vision of Friends of the Morris Canal Greenway in Bloomfield is

  • To restore the pre-1900 section of the Collins house, reusing a section of the house as an apartment for a resident caretaker and maintaining another section of the house for historic and educational tours, lectures and public events. The property surrounding the house will be open to the public with educational historical interpretive signage about the Morris Canal, Inclined Plane and history of the house in connection with the Morris Canal Greenway in Bloomfield, which in turn is part of the State-wide Morris Canal Greenway.

  • To create a Greenway with trail markers, bike paths, historical maps and interpretive signage following the path of the Morris Canal through Bloomfield and to connect the Greenway with other parks, trails, recreational areas and historical areas to become part of the state-wide Morris Canal Greenway.

Friends of the Morris Canal Greenway in Bloomfield is a 501(c)(3) organization.
All donations to Friends of the Morris Canal Greenway in Bloomfield are tax deductible according to IRS regulations.
